Space: The Artists Frontier!

If one cannot find beauty on Earth they simply have to look up.
One interest of mine was always space. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to own a telescope but never had the opportunity. I think that nature provides us with beauty everywhere we look and not just on earth. I am hoping to still someday own a telescope and be able to share with my classroom some of my interest in space.

I have never been really into space myself but over the summer on a night when there was a full moon, I was over at a friend's house and he set up his gigantic telescope in the backyard and we got to see jupiter and moons orbitting around it. We also got to see the moon but it was pretty bright! It sure gave me a new perspective on how fascinating and mysterious space can be. I think students would love to go on a field trip to the observatory but unfortunately it has to be dark out to see anything in space ... although having a guest speaker from the observatory come into the classroom and talk to students would be great experience as well.
